Colin did the double and Helen won a spoon (the wooden type)
Friday 9th December saw the club get together to celebrate a fantastic year for WTC. The club has grown it's membership, established a full committee and formalised its governance. We've revitalised the club kit, obtained more sponsors and won grants and the club is now on a much firmer financial footing.
And of course, there has been racing... lots of racing. This year has seen our members complete multiple Ironman, Ironman 70.3 triathlons, extreme Ironman and ultra marathons as well as shorter distance events with each member achieving their own personal goals.
The Comrades Club in Wallingford hosted our annual dinner and awards providing a very tasty curry.
This year half the awards were voted for by the members and some awarded by our President. The awards were as follows:
Champion Triathlete of the Year - Colin Wood
2nd Place - Mike Unwin
Most Improved Triathlete - Kate Edwards
WTC Club Person of the Year - Kate Edwards
MCE Trophy - Conor Rourke
Outstanding Contribution to WTC - Phil Wortley, Eliot Simons, AHS, Matthew Clamp, Bridget Graham.
Supporter of the Year - Bob Grantham
And the coveted wooden spoon award went to...
Helen Franks for wearing her helmet backwards throughout the cycle leg of the Windsor Triathlon. Well done Helen
