And Ash's maiden 70.3 support
Another weekend, another Ironman event for WTC. This time it was the turn of Kate Edwards to take on the middle distance triathlon in the sunny climate of Venice, Italy. Kate is a relative newcomer to triathlon, however showed what could be done with an excellent performance across the 3 disciplines.
Kate finished in a time of 7 hours 18 minutes and 26 seconds (breakdown below).
Well done Kate!
But the biggest congratulations of the day must go to Ash. Ash went all the way to Venice to take part in the gruelling sport of supporting. The day started with a hard earned coffee and he racked up a total of over 20,000 steps but didn't get applause from any of the ironman competitors. The sport of Supporting is so difficult, Ash even missed Kate a couple of times on the run, but he kept going. At the end of the day, Ash commented "We all know who the real hero of the day is." That's right Ash, well done, you're a true hero.
Supporting was so tough, but you need to stay sharp, and this coffee certainly helped.
After race celebration
