I was tempted into the triathlon family in 2012, after the excitement of watching the Brownlee brothers in Hyde Park and the desire to burn some calories in order to keep eating my favourite pies, having just given up playing rugby!

I eventually joined WTC in 2017, to try to find some company and variety on training sessions. You’ll never find a more supportive and inclusive club, with something to offer everyone from Tri-newby to seasoned iron-man.

I have competed at most distances at Tri, as well as numerous sportives and ultra runs, but mostly based around mountains or fells. I tend to go for the longer distances these days, when grumpy determination trumps youthful speed! My wife, Amanda, and I have lived in Wallingford since 2006, with our two teenage kids, although holidays will often find us enjoying our spiritual home in the Lake District.
